The YPCR - Young Professionals of Campbell River
There is a new group in town, they are called the (Young Professionals of Campbell River) the YPCR, a catchy and easy to remember acronym. This assembly approaches with a new glowing
and vibrant energy, a set of smarts, numerous and various skill sets and a great deal of ambition in a move to press our community forward. Creating a positive and healthy environment in which to foster a mutually progressive economy on all fronts, not just in business. These pro's have been kicking some preverbal butt, with a swelling membership and well organized plan of participation in community activities and events including the popular Oceans Day, where teams have been called to action to clean up the accumulated winter rubbish from our miles of fantastic beaches, readying the beaches for the summer traffic. What a positive way to participate and serve the community.
The aim of this energetic and progressive group is to promote social interaction and assist in the professional development of Campbell River's future business leaders. The basis of the structure is known as the 4 pillars; Networking, Social Interaction, Community and Professional Development. Fundamentally the organization has been formed as a forum for the up and coming leaders in the community to get to know one another, share ideas and resources and mentor each other.
To become a member you must be under the age of 40 and live or work in Campbell River, I guess that means I cannot apply, OK so I look under 40, what can I say. The goal of the group is to
follow in the footsteps of the Young Professionals of Nanaimo which has surfaced as a prominent influence in the Nanaimo Business community in just two short years. This group is just one example of several progressive changes we are seeing in Campbell River lying just under the surface. I equate this to the tearing down of our community infrastructure from a grass roots level, with a smart eye to rebuilding in a modern and progressive manner to meet the demands of the new economy we are all facing.
Just another reason Campbell River is on the Go!!!
